Work — Overview
This renovation project aims to improve the building’s energy efficiency and structural consolidation while preserving its volume and exterior load-bearing walls.

This project is located in Carlopoli (Catanzaro), Italy and was completed in 2023. The building benefited from tax incentives promoted by the Italian government, known as the Superbonus 110%. Its realization is currently in progress.
With meticulous attention to detail and a commitment to excellence, we create spaces that inspire, elevate, and enrich the lives of those who inhabit them.
Seismic risk reduction measures include consolidating structural nodes and floor slabs, as well as implementing anti-tilting masonry interventions.
Energy efficiency measures as follows:
- thermal insulation of the building’s exterior using expanded brown cork cladding;
- replacement of windows and doors and solar shielding;
- installation air conditioning systems to heat pumps, along with the installation of photovoltaic systems and energy storage solutions;
- installation of charging infrastructure for electric vehicles.
Alfieri is passionate to improve comfort in living spaces while ensuring safety, sustainability, and long-term energy efficiency.

The seismic floor diaphragm features concrete-wood joints created using a three-dimensional perforated plate made of galvanized carbon steel.
The use of expanded brown cork insulation ensures excellent thermal insulation, high breathability of the walls, and outstanding resistance to both water and fire. The exterior walls are finished with fiber-reinforced plaster, while the interior is coated with clay which lining radiant wall panels.
In addition to the seismic risk, the existing house was affected by issues such as water infiltration, mould, poor thermal insulation, and low energy efficiency.
