Work — Overview
An innovative and accessible Park dedicated to stimulating public interest in scientific and environmental culture by promoting the mountain’s natural resources.
The MasterPlan of the Sila EcoPark aim to preserve the natural landscape.
With meticulous attention to detail and a commitment to quality, we create a park that inspires, elevates, and enriches the lives of the visitors.
The project was completed in 2015 and is located in the Municipality of Taverna, in the district of Catanzaro, Italy.
Sila Eco Park is a didactic park focused on environmental sciences, known as ‘The City of Environmental Sciences – Fata: Village of the Elements’.
The Park acts as a permanent center for education, offering new learning opportunities and enhancing the value of the area by creating attractions primarily focused on school tourism.
Creative spaces designed to engage the public’s interest in science and environmental awareness, highlighting the Sila Mountains’ natural resources.
The project celebrates the stunning natural sites rich in trees while looking towards the future, ensuring that the Park’s environment inspires all.
Key points in the grid hold circular squares for information, gatherings, and rest, featuring gardens, fountains, sculptures, and lights for various activities. A guiding path helps visitors explore the park’s natural beauty, which may feel overwhelming for younger guests.
The Sila EcoPark has a clear master plan that contrasts with the diverse shapes visitors will encounter. Inspired by ancient Roman cities, its 120-meter grid aligns with the Passante dam, the only significant human-made feature in the area.
The park includes two main roads, the Cardo and the Decumanus, along with paths for bicycles, pedestrians, and horseback riding. These paths connect the City of Sport, City of Environmental Sciences, Village of Works, and Village of Fairies, while showcasing earth movements similar to the nearby lake’s gentle sway.
